- How Buckley Shot the Russian General: Mr Frederick A. Buckley, a Dublin raconteur and acquaintance of the Joyce family who reportedly told a story of how he shot a Russian general in the Crimea. In fact, we know that Buckley himself could not have fought in the Crimean War, being far too young (born in 1847).
