Had a long-time general interest in reading more Joyce due to a HS Humanities teacher but only ever read ''Dubliners'' before this. Got interested in this book in particular when I read that Terence McKenna suggested it is the best literary representation of the psychedelic experience. I'm giving this a read in lieu of trying LSD or 'shrooms. |

At the time of this account creation in April, 2007, I've just started reading this for the first time at age 35 and I'm through the first Mutt and Jute dialogue. Had a long-time general interest in reading more Joyce due to a HS Humanities teacher but only ever read Dubliners before this. Got interested in this book in particular when I read that Terence McKenna suggested it is the best literary representation of the psychedelic experience. I'm giving this a read in lieu of trying LSD or 'shrooms.
