- engraver: one who engraves
- gravure: (French) engraving, illustration, picture → identified by John Gordon (Finnegans Wake: A Plot Summary, pp. 7, 16) with a picture of the Battle of Waterloo → apparently the wordless scene in A Royal Divorce with Wellington or Napoleon sitting on a big white horse in front of a battle-scene → see same white harse on Page_10
- grave → Ptollmens → FW, ALP's letter, the Irish landscape in which Finn MacCool (i.e. HCE) is interred, the flagpatch quilt which covers HCE as he lies in bed, the coffin in which he is later buried, etc., are all instances of the same siglum, File:Book.PNG, which ultimately represents anything than contains HCE, either literally (like a coffin) or metaphorically (like a letter or a book that refers to him)
