  • daffodills are the flowers of narcissus, because Narcissus is said to have transformed into one after being transfixed by his own reflection. Hence narcissi is the latin name for these flowers.
  • narcosis means a state of stupor or unconsciousness caused by drugs, which seems like a fair description of Yawn's condition here.
