  • prodromos: (Greek) forerunner
  • prodromatic: relating to the symptoms that come before a disease
  • arithmos: (Greek) number → prodromarith = those that were before numbers; essentially, this passage at the beginning of the chapter seems to be a sort of genealogy, going back to a time before there were numbers
  • Arithmoi: (Greek) Numbers, the fourth book of the Old Testament → HCE's genealogy is traced to a time before the biblical Book of Numbers. This possibly refers to Genesis, but also includes Exodus and Leviticus. Also, the Book of Numbers in the Bible is a book of names, more or less - a census
