  • MacCabe, Edwand - 19th-century Dublin archbishop, cardinal
  • Cullen, Paul, Cardinal (1803-78) - archbishop of Dublin, bitter enemy of the Fenians, execrated at Christmas dinner in Portrait of the Artist.
  • MacCabe succeeded Cullen as Archbishop of Dublin; both were 19th century anti-nationalistic cardinals (as such had red hats and were addressed 'your Eminence')
