  • Jacobitism - supporters of the exiled King James II and their descendents after the revolution of 1688. A political struggle in Britian, but in Scotland and Ireland, it was primarily religious.
  • Jacobiters: when Jacob came back with his family after spending many years with his Uncle Lavan, his brother Esau ran out to meet him and "fell on his neck." The written description says that he kissed him. The oral explanation is that he tried to bite his neck but God hardened Jacob's skin and it broke Esau's teeth.
