Jump to navigationJump to search- Saint Andrew Undershaft: a Church of England church located in the Aldgate ward of the City of London. Founded in 1147, it survived the Great Fire of London in 1666. The name Underhsaft comes from a huge maypole that stood nect to teh church in the Middle Ages.
- Andrew Undershaft: In Shaw's Major Barbara (1906), an iconclastic armaments manufacturer, the father of the heroine, a major in the Salvation Army. He espouses his own "Gospel" of capitalism.
- Sainte Andrée Minutte: a French nun, guillotined in 1794 at Orange in Southern France, one of 32 nuns executed at the time in the name of the French Revoution.
