Jump to navigationJump to search- Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus: (520 BC – 430 BC) an aristocrat and political figure of the Roman Republic, serving as Roman dictator in 458 BC and 439 BC. Elevated to ansolute power in the midst of a dire war, he immediately and famously resigned and returned to his farm ("turned gis back") once the crisis was past.
