  • saccularius: (Latin) cutpurse, swindler, pickpocket
  • sakellarios (Greek: σακελλάριος) an official entrusted with administrative and financial duties (from sakellion "purse, treasury"). The title was used in the Byzantine Empire with varying functions, and remains in use in the Eastern Orthodox Church.
