pun on "De Profundis"

This is the title of Psalm 129, meaning "out of the depths." The priest recites this psalm at funerals, before the body is taken out of the house. Hence its place at the wake.

(?): "De Profundis" is also the title of the long letter written by Oscar Wilde while he was in jail. Wilde was born in Dublin. His full name was Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde, containing the word "Fin" and suggesting the initials F.W.
