- The Great Book of Lecan: a medieval Irish manuscript written between 1397 and 1418. It is in the possession of the Royal Irish Academy
- Lucan: (Marcus Annaeus Lucanus) (39 AD – 65 AD), a Roman poet, born in Corduba (modern-day Córdoba), in the Hispania Baetica. Despite his short life, he is regarded as one of the outstanding figures of the Imperial Latin period. His most famous work is the Pharsalia, an epic about civil wars between Pompey and Caesar.
- Earl of Lucan: a title in the Peerage of Ireland which has been possessed by two related Irish families in creations of 1691 and 1795. The third earl of Lucan famously commanded the charge of the Light Brigade in the Crimean Wat in 1854.
