Haroun
From FinnegansWiki
Jump to navigationJump to search= Heron?
May be a play on Heron of Alexandria, who made breakthroughs in math and geometry, including a method for determining the area of a triangle -- suggested by the following words "caligulate by multiplicables the alltitude" (calculate by multiplication the altitude)
NB: Harun is also the Islamic name for the Old Testament character Aaron, the brother of Moses; this same paragraph in Wake refers to Moses and the first books of the Bible.
NB: The paragraph begins with a reference to "the Stuttering Hand"; Moses had a speech impediment, and Aaron spoke for him.
