  • jib sheets: two ropes which lead from the lower corner of a jib sail to port and starboard respectively, used for trimming the sail. The jib is a triangular sail at the front of a ship, connected to he boom.
  • royals: small sails on the top of a l mast immediately above the topgallant sail
