Tomtittot

• Tom Tit Tot: a folk tale in which a demon's safety depends upon the secrecy of his name, in English Fairy Tales by Joseph Jacobs → Rumpelstiltskin in Grimm's Fairy Tales is the well-known German equivalent

• tomtit: the Blue Titmouse, or the Coal titmouse, or the Great Titmouse → hence, a little man or boy, a homunculus, a person of little consequence

• tot: (1) a baby or small child (2) a simpleton, a fool (3) the word tot or letter T written against an item in an account to indicate that the amount specified has been received; hence, an item in an account (4) the sum total (5) a dust-heap scavenger's name for a bone; anything worth picking from a refuse-heap or elsewhere (cf. ALP's letter)
