• Iliad: The epic Greek poem attributed to Homer. The word Iliad means "pertaining to Ilion" (Latin Ilium), the name of the city proper, as opposed to Troy (Greek: Τροία, Troía; Latin: Troja) the state centered around Ilium, over which Priam reigned.
