- common
- toryism: conservatism
- Winston Churchill: refer back to solier-author-batman. Churchill was a Tory, a "common" Tory (bit of a put down) but really a Liberal in all but name, who certainly expressed much "commentary" throughout his long career. Interestingly, the issue that prevented Churchill from being a full-throated Liberal was his stance on Irish Home Rule. Cf. Anglo-Irish War (1919-1921) and the relations between Churchill and Michael Collins.
