Gramm's laws

Grimm's Law: postulated by Jakob Grimm (one of the Grimm brothers of fairy-tale fame), describes the regular changes of consonants from the reconstructed language proto-Indo-European (PIE) into proto-Germanic. For example, pre-shift "t" sounds became "th" in Germanic languages (Rus. tri, Sanskrit trayas correspond to Eng. three)
