Just one moment

The following passage seems to be a digression, as if a newsreel ("roll away the reel world, the reel world, the reel world!") with another scandal is being run in the dream. There are hints of advertisements at the start, concerning weight loss and hair loss. Then comes a story of the geeser (geezer) and his two peaches, a story larded with American slang. When it is over, there is some clapping and the sound of the loose end of the roll of film flapping ("Ack, ack, ack"), after which we return to the main story.
