  • The Kallikak Family: A Study in the Heredity of Feeble-Mindedness: A 1912 book by the American psychologist and eugenicist Henry Goddard. It purports to show the heritability of mental illness and low intelligence. It centers on multiple generations of a single New Jersey family. The pseudonym of the family is based on the combination of the Greek words καλός (kalos, good) and κακός (kakos, bad). The book, influential in setting social policy in its time, has been since dismissed for ignoring environmental factors (such as aloholism and disease) and for being, in parts, falsified.
  • Kellikek: A made-up Irish version of the family (Kelly).
