  • Saint Kevin: (d.618) a seventh-century monk and saint who was the first abbot of Glendalough in County Wicklow. An eremite who lived 7 years alone in Glendalough, County Wicklow, spending his nights in a cave (Saint Kevin's Bed, as below, a popular tourist attraction) and his days in a hollow tree by the lake's shore. To him came beautiful young Cathleen, who had previously tempted him at Luggelaw, and when Kevin again spurned her love, she drowned herself.
  • Saint Kevin's bed: a small. man-made cave near Glendalough in Ireland. It is claimed that St, Kevin slept on a dolmen in the cave, as did Bishop Laurence O'Toole.
