Shot the three tailors

• Three Tailors of Tooley Street: British Prime Minister George Canning relayed a story of three tailors who wanted to a tax exemption and were informed they would have to petition the Privy Council; accordingly they drafted their appeal, which began with the phrase "We, The People of England." Hence, "three tailors of Tooley Street" is used as a metaphor for a group pretending to represent a far greater number than it actually does.
