In addition to the folkloric tradition that Magog fathered several of the Irish races, there is an fairly well known (anonymous) political cartoon "Gog and Magog giving Paddy a Lift out of the Mire" (published in Punch in 1849) signifying London's aid to the starving Irish. Thoughts?
