  • melos: (Music Theory) he succession of musical tones constituting a melody.
  • mode: (Music Theory) a type of scale, coupled with a set of characteristic melodic behaviors. Greek modes include Lydian, Dorian, Phrygian, etc., all with differently constructed scales.
