Jump to navigationJump to search- Thingmote: an artificial mound constructed by Vikings on what is now the intersection of Suffolk Street and Church Lane in Dublin. It was custom of the invaders to erect a stone pillar (steyne) at the point of their landing and the Thingmote (thingmót) was built beside it. It was here the Vikings "parliament" assembled and decisions affecting the customs and laws of the tribe were made
