Curragh is a plain in the Irish county of Kildare. The name "Curragh" comes from the Irish (Gaeilge) word Cuirreach, meaning "racecourse," and the plain is famous for its annual horse races[1]. This connotation links to "horsey" earlier in this paragraph.
