  • duke of Marlborough: John Churchill (1650 - 1922). English soldier and statesman, served William III and Queen Anne. He led campaigns in mainland Wurope and in Ireland
  • "Malbrouk s’en va-t-en guerre": ("Malbrouk leaves for war") A French folk song, usually seen as referring to the Duke of Marlborough, but apparently originated in the Middle Ages.
