I'm devoted to cognitive poetics and literary polyvalence: Mr Joyce's book is the richest source I know for either phenomenom.

If my name appeared in Finnegans Wake, we might parse it athusly: Bos, a truncated Bosch, from Dutch van den Bosch, "of the woods", a not-uncommon Germanic surname which you see today in Bush as well. That the current President of the United States is named Bush should not be seen as coincidence; he is something of a bumpkin in worldview if not background. Or Turkish boş, meaning useless or ignorant. Or Latin, bos, cow-ox-bull. I'm bullish on skepticism (though generally skeptical about bullishness), and believe like Mr. Darrow that Jehovan, like Mother Goose, has not been reliably demonstated. Habeus deus. Emma Goldman: "[Atheism] is the concept of an actual, real world with its liberating, expanding and beautifying possibilities, as against an unreal world, which, with its spirits, oracles, and mean contentment has kept humanity in helpless degradation."

I'm delighted to be a part of the FWiki, and welcome conversation and debate.
