• Baron P'ing: Chinese nobleman and member of a powerful family in the Chinese state of Lu (Confucius's home state) who, in 517 B.C., started a dynastic feud over a cockfight with a member of the Chao family. P'ing attempted to cheat by putting ground mustard seed into the wings of his bird, hoping it would fly into the eyes of the opposing cock and blind him.
